My vision is to create a traveling and ongoing project by re-branding crane vending machines filled with cotton as a new game of historical chance. The machine's contents will be marketed as a piece of American history, while turning the gallery or museum patron into a leisurely cotton picker. The proceeds from each machine will be placed into a savings account that will fund a political arts agenda and will award one artist quarterly or whenever it wants. I'm building off the idea that as consumers, our dollars often fund political agendas different from our own views. There are several agendas being illustrated within this project: One is to collect proceeds as a payment for Reparations through an innocent looking game. Two is to illustrate and create nepotism that strictly funds African American artists while denying that political agenda through a faceless fictional foundation to be named at a later date.
