Idea Capital Kicks Off
Eighteenth Annual Fundraising Season
Key Members of Atlanta’s Arts Community Expected at A Spirited Soirée
ATLANTA—Idea Capital, Atlanta’s premier arts organization for recognizing and supporting individual artists working at the forefront of arts practices, begins its next fundraising cycle on September 13, 2026, with A Spirited Soirée.
The afternoon home and garden party will raise funds in support of Idea Capital’s awards program, which seeks out artists who undertake audacious and risk-taking art projects in all disciplines. Award winners in the past have included artists working in visual art, writing, poetry, music, curation, research, theatre, dance, digital media, and more. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.
As a peer-based honor, an Idea Capital award is widely considered an endorsement of artistic merit for Atlanta’s most forward-thinking artists. All awards carry a cash stipend toward completion of a new project.
Each year, the Idea Capital fundraising party draws a curated crowd of cutting-edge artists, leading cultural producers, and important decision makers. Space is typically at a premium.
A Spirited Soirée will be held at the historic Victorian home of Al Dellinger and Tim Thomas in Hapeville and will feature a paranormal theme. Organizers note that “anything could happen: from seances and tarot card readings to spoon-bending and spirit visitations.” As celebrated florists, Dellinger and Thomas will provide a home and garden full of stunning flower arrangements and botanical delights.
A Spirited Soirée continues Idea Capital’s annual tradition of bridging multiple sectors of Atlanta’s art worlds in pursuit of a common goal of recognizing and supporting artists.
